Ave Taavet (b. 1988) did her Masters at the animation department of the Estonian Academy of Arts. Her graduation film „Seniors Choice“ premiered in spring 2015, accompanied by the short tale of an amateur-enthomologist Vello.

Aside from creating animated shorts herself, she also teaches animation to children, organizes workshops and occasionally writes about films, the art of animation and culture in general.
Her animated characters are known for their constant grin, googly eyes and comb-shaped hands. The visual landscape of her drawings is often invaded by fish, hedgehogs, sailors and fat, yet graceful ladies.
